2017 Economic Outlook
Zach Jenkins is the Director of the Haas Center for Business Research and Economic Development at the University of West Florida. He received his BS degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management with a concentration in Information Technology and a law degree from the University of Florida in 2005, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Since joining the Haas Center in 2015, he has conducted economic and fiscal impact analysis, and authored articles regarding housing affordability, income distribution, and other issues specific to Northwest Florida. He is the Principal Investigator for the “Regional Strategy for Economic Transformation” grant awarded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration in order to develop and begin implementation of a regional economic development strategy for Northwest Florida. Prior to joining the Haas Center, he practiced construction law and general business litigation in Pensacola and worked at a children’s home to help children overcome abuse, neglect or poverty
